During the Resort's operating time, occupancy exceeded all expectations with up to 20 to 30 enquiries on a weekly basis during the care taker period. In short, the Resort was gaining a reputation for its uniqueness and positive potential.

40 years ago, the wine region began its life, it is now recognised as one of the world's great fine wine producers. There are some 200 vineyards in the region and 90 wineries are listed.

The first type of wine to win acclaim in the region was Cabernet Sauvignon, today Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Semillon are also of consistently high quality and win many awards.

Surfing is an integral part of Margaret River life and old and part of its unique attraction to tourists. World class surf brings novice surfers and professionals from all over the globe to the consistent, clean, big waves of the south-west coastline.

There is a tantalising selection of award-winning restaurants and cafés in town and scattered throughout the countryside, with a growing number of regional wineries now offering premier restaurant and café facilities.
